First time cooking since it was moved from the ball field. part of our cook's gift was a very nice Blue Ridge bbq hat. The weather was great. We didn't place in anything nor finish well. Not quite sure what the issue is, other than we seem to be going backwards instead of forward.
It has been a long time probably 10 years since we last cooked at Tryon, so we gave it a go this year. it was nice to be back and to see old Tryon friends, Carl and Jim Tabb.

Here we are judging at Tryon, we appear several times in the video. Contest location was moved to the college this year. This was our first judging assignment this year. We judged the Anything Butt Dessert on Friday night. I was lucky to have the winning entry at our table, a nice warm Dutch apple pie. Brian had the runner up, which I liked better than the pie, pecan pie mouse.
Saturday's entries did give us any winning entries, and we'll leave it at that! I will add I gave some of the lowest scores I have ever given at a contest. |
