This year was reminisce of the mud bowl of 2000. It started raining about 6:30PM Friday night and rained until early Sunday morning. In all of our 17 years of competing, this is the first contest I have ever had to run turn-ins in the rain. Thank goodness, we had our duck shoes. The mud bowl of 200 is what prompted the purchase of duck shoes. However, due to our trailer, we were much better equipped for the rain this year than in 2000. This year was a big crowd of 55 teams. We weren't able to place anywhere. So not sure if the changes we made over the winter are for our good or not.

A little behind on posting in this new bbq season. I have recently returned to school, and classes are really intense. Judged the inaugural Jammin' Pig BBQ Music Festival in Winston Salem, NC. Made some new friends and saw some old ones as well. I think from the entries at our table, there a number of fairly new teams at this event. The weather was sunny and Carolina blue skies. I think this will become a good event. Check it out next year.
